Homemade Soft Pretzels Recipe
Easy to make and incredibly tasty, these homemade pretzels are the family's favorite. Great to munch at any time of the day.

- 450 g all-purpose flour
- 250 g butter
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp sour cream
- 200 g mature cheddar cheese
- 10 g baking powder
- 1 egg for brushing
- cumin, sesame, or poppy seeds optional
Put all the ingredients besides the cheese (butter, flour, egg yolk, baking powder, salt) in a large bowl and form a homogeneous dough. The composition must be kneaded for about 5-6 minutes. At the end, we incorporate the grated cheese, and knead a little more until it is evenly distributed in the dough.
Start working with small pieces of dough and roll out a sheet about 0.5 cm thick. If the dough is sticky, put a little flour on the work table and on the rolling pin. Using the pretzel cutter, cut the pretzels and place them one by one in a tray lined with baking sheet.
Brush the pretzels with the beaten egg and sprinkle them with various seeds - (cumin, sesame, poppy) or 50g of grated cheddar cheese.
Put them in the oven heated to 180 °C and bake for 10-15 minutes or until they are golden-brown. Let them cool down before taking them out of the pan, otherwise they may break because they are quite tender. Enjoy!
